Your Tanzania safari adventure begins when you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), where your friendly professional safari guide will be waiting to welcome you. After a short introduction and safari briefing, you’ll hit the road towards Tarangire National Park, located about two hours from Arusha.
Once inside the park, get ready for your first exciting Tarangire game drive. Known for its impressive elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and beautiful open savannahs, Tarangire offers a fantastic introduction to Tanzania’s wildlife. Keep your eyes peeled for lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, ostriches, buffaloes, wildebeest, and a variety of antelope species as you explore the park with your guide.
Around midday, stop for a picnic lunch at a designated spot overlooking the surrounding wilderness. It’s the perfect chance to relax, enjoy your meal, and take in the sights and sounds of the African bush.
Later in the afternoon, leave Tarangire and continue to Karatu, a charming gateway to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Check in at your lodge, unwind after an exciting day, and enjoy a well-deserved evening of relaxation.
